Job Title: Procurement Leader Location: Barrow (Hybrid, 1-2 days on-site per month) Hourly Rate: £27.65 PAYE or £36.48 Umbrella (INSIDE IR35) Contract Length: 14 months Client: BAE Systems About the Role As a Procurement Leader within the Submarines Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of procurement professionals, delivering complex procurement activities, and ensuring optimal outcomes for the organisation. This position requires strong project management and strategic sourcing experience, alongside expertise in major contract management. Key responsibilities include : Leading a team to ensure resources are effectively allocated, trained, and developed. Developing and implementing procurement strategies, fostering collaboration across teams. Overseeing supplier assessments and due diligence to ensure alignment with business needs. Delivering value through cost-saving initiatives, contract management, and negotiations. Ensuring accurate and up-to-date records in systems such as SAP and eDMS/Teamcenter. Reviewing supplier performance against quality, cost, and delivery metrics, driving improvements. Supporting team members on commercial aspects of contracts and mitigating risks. Essential Skills & Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain or procurement management. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; SAP experience is advantageous. In-depth understanding of supply chain operations, product nuclear safety, and supplier optimisation.
