Shift pattern: 12-hour shifts – 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off (x5), followed by a 14-day break

Are you experienced in mechanical or electrical trades and looking for a new challenge in a vital sector? A globally operating fuel storage business focused on safety, innovation, and a sustainable energy future is looking for a Terminal Controller to join their team in Grays on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

The Role

You will play a key part in ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, dispatch, and transfer of fuel products. This includes supervising road tanker loading, ensuring site compliance, performing planned maintenance inspections, and acting as the traffic controller during emergency situations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Enforcing on-site safety, fire, and environmental protocols
  • Coordinating vehicle movements and supervising product transfers
  • Responding calmly and efficiently to alarms and incidents
  • Operating site weighbridges and assisting with pigging and line clearance
  • Supporting the Senior Terminal Controller
  • Maintaining high standards of site housekeeping and reporting equipment issues

About You

You are someone who:

  • Has experience in industrial/mechanical/electrical/manual labour or trades
  • Has a safety-conscious mindset and can follow instructions to carry out the role safely and efficiently
  • Can work alone at night or weekends, in all weather conditions (PPE provided)
  • Has good communication skills and computer literacy
  • Must have a safety-conscious mindset and be able to follow instructions to carry out the role
  • Holds a full UK Driving Licence for driving commercial vehicles on site and has access to own vehicle to get to and from site
