Rate: £56.40 PAYE or £76.16 Umbrella per hour (INSIDE IR35)
Overview: BAE Systems Submarines is seeking a Fire Safety Engineer to lead fire safety engineering across complex naval defence programmes. You will act as the subject matter expert, working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure fire safety is embedded in submarine design, supporting national security and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead fire risk assessments and hazard analysis
- Develop and maintain fire safety documentation and strategy
- Produce and review fire/explosion risk assessments and safety cases
- Engage with engineering teams to integrate fire safety requirements
- Chair fire safety workshops and ensure regulatory alignment
Required Experience & Skills:
- Fire risk assessment experience in high-hazard or construction settings
- Strong knowledge of Defence Standards, ADB, BS 9999, and NFPA
