Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer Client: BAE Systems Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight Duration: 6 months + potential to extend Rate: £60 PAYE or £81.05 Umbrella Working Arrangements: 3-4 days on site per week

The Role We’re seeking an Electrical Engineer to take a lead role in the design and development of complex electrical hardware systems at BAE Systems. You’ll act as a senior technical authority, driving solutions from concept to completion and providing expert guidance across multiple projects.

What you’ll do

• Lead electrical design for new and legacy products.
• Deliver solutions across power distribution, motor drives, control systems, and data networks.
• Oversee design verification, testing, and integration activities.
• Provide technical leadership, review documentation, and mentor engineers.
• Contribute to bids, proposals, and technology development.

What you’ll bring

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
• Significant experience in electrical design, integration, and verification.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g. IET Wiring, EMC, safety).
• Experience in defence or other high-safety industries is desirable.
