About the role
Join BAE Systems as a CNC Programmer supporting the Type 26 frigate programme in Govan. You will develop CNC and robot welding programs to optimise production across advanced fabrication facilities, supporting both new and existing manufacturing processes.
Key responsibilities
- Create CNC/robot welding programs for steel fabrication and manufacturing
- Develop manufacturing instructions and support production ramp-up
- Lead programming projects and act as technical specialist
- Liaise with engineering on design changes impacting production
- Perform cost-benefit analyses for continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain and improve dimensional data accuracy and capture
Skills & experience Essential:
- Online/offline CNC programming experience (ISO G-code)
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
- Industrial engineering background
- Tooling and program optimisation experience
- Continuous improvement experience (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred)
- Project management and stakeholder coordination skills
