We are seeking an experienced PNT Test Engineer to support the testing, validation, and performance assessment of Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) equipment. This role will ensure systems meet operational requirements, performance expectations, and mandated standards. Based in Filton, Bristol, this is a 6‑month contract commencing in October, working 18 hours per week (0.5 FTE). The role requires regular travel within the UK and up to three weeks of overseas travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and execute test plans and procedures for PNT equipment.
- Conduct functional, performance, and environmental testing.
- Identify, investigate, and report faults, anomalies, and performance issues.
- Analyse test data and produce detailed reports and recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to support troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, quality, and technical standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience testing and validating navigation, positioning, or timing equipment, ideally A‑PNT systems.
- Strong understanding of GNSS, INS, and related technologies.
- Experience using test equipment, data analysis, and reporting tools.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and standards.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Desirable
- Knowledge of antenna radiation pattern modelling and anechoic chamber testing.
- Proficiency in MATLAB.
Security Requirements
- Security Check (SC) clearance required.
- Applicants must be sole UK nationals and not hold dual nationality.
- Role subject to export control and ITAR restrictions.
