Our client is a leading R/C and Structural Alterations contractor with an enviable reputation for quality, safety and delivery. Due to continued success within London's unique Cut & Carve/Structural Alterations sector they are now keen to identify a BIM Manager.
Typical Projects: Complex Cut & Carve schemes within zones 1-3. Value range £1m to £35m.
The Role:
- Pre-construction:
- Review tender documentation for BIM requirements and give advice on project BIM costs and implications.
- Create schedules / takeoffs from the models to assist quantity surveyors.
- With support from planners, create 2D drawings and sequences such as swept paths, crane layouts, logistics plans etc.
- Create 2D, 3D, and 4D CGI’s using tools such as Synchro, Twinmotion, 3DS Max etc.
- Assist with bid writing and generating other tender submission documentation.
- Create project BIM Execution Plan.
- Attend BIM coordination meetings.
- Complete clash detection and model coordination.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure they meet the project's BIM requirements.
- Coordinate with document controllers to ensure information management requirements are met.
- Generate Revit models and drawings as required for construction elements and temporary works.
- Maintain internal model viewer (Trimble connect etc.) and support site staff in using these tools.
- Coordinate laser scanning and complete as-built modelling as required.
- Continue digital progression by researching and implementing new digital tools.
- Plan for and assist with recruitment of staff, or procurement of contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
Desirable attributes:
- Preconstruction experience
- Understanding and/or experience of construction methodology
- Experience with structural alterations/cut & carve/demolition
- Experience with Asta & Synchro
- Proficient with producing 3D & 4D animations and time slices
