Our client is a renowned national Civil Engineering contractor with a strong reputation for safety, quality and delivery of complex civil engineering projects. Due to continued success and the acquisition of new civil structural packages in the region, our client is keen to identify a talented Project Engineer for the delivery of R/C structures. Our client is committed to developing its people, both professionally and personally. The ideal candidate will be happy to work in a Pre-Construction environment initially and they should have extensive knowledge and experience of temporary works. Experience producing Pre-Construction documentation - ITP's and RAMS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the achievement of safety targets and zero tolerance of unsafe working practices and occurrences.
- Establish and implement site systems and controls consistent with company standards and project requirements including quality systems and the project engineering standards.
- Ensure the production and communication of risk assessment and methods statements to the site supervision.
- Resolve technical issues with employer's representatives, suppliers, subcontractors and statutory authorities.
- Provide data to project Commercial manager / QS in respect to variation orders and site instructions.
- Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
- Liaise with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.
- Generate ITPs in accordance with the project specification.
- Oversee quality control on site, ensuring that non-conformance reports are raised for all instances of non-conformance and that the findings of the reports are implemented so as to reduce future occurrences.
- Ensure traceability of all works in terms of their compliance to specification and self-certification requirements.
- Maintain accurate daily records on activities, operations and issues encountered both on site and relating to design and programme.
- Manage the process of close out of all contract documentation, sign off of all QA documentation and the preparation of a Health and Safety file.
