- Assistant Quantity Surveyor Drywall
The Opportunity
We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing and successful Drywall & Interior Fit-Out contractor delivering high-quality projects across East Anglia, London and Greater London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional to play a key role in managing project finances, maximising profitability, and supporting the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of multiple drywall and interior commercial projects.
- Assist with preparation and submitting accurate valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
- Procure subcontractors and suppliers, including negotiation of terms and pricing.
- Assess and manage variations, change orders, and contractual claims.
- Assist with producing monthly cost reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Support project delivery teams with commercial and contractual advice.
Requirements
Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within the drywall, partitioning, ceilings, interiors.
- Understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
- Experience assisting with managing projects from pre-construction through to final account.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and financial management capabilities.
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent) preferred.
- Full UK driving licence desirable.
