An established and growing construction contractor is seeking an experience d Quantity Survey or to join its commercial team in Hertfordshire.

The business delivers a diverse portfolio o f public and private sector projec ts across th e residential, education, healthcare and commercial secto rs, with project values ranging up t o £10 million.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor looking to work on varied projects, take ownership of schemes from pre-construction through to final account, and contribute to the continued growth of a successful regional contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the commercial aspects of multiple construction projects.
  • Preparing cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation.
  • Procuring subcontractors and negotiating contract terms.
  • Valuing and processing subcontractor applications and payments.
  • Managing variations, change control, and contractual correspondence.
  • Producing accurate cost reports and forecasts.
  • Monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting project teams to ensure successful commercial outcomes.
  • Negotiating and agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partn ers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Experience delivering residential, education, commercial, healthcare projects.
  • Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and construction procurement processes
  • Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills
  • Ability to manage projects independently from inception through to completion
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Relevant construction-related qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent).
