Our client are a well-established, high-end landscape design and build company delivering exceptional outdoor spaces across London and the Home Counties. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to take ownership of our project delivery function — from initial contract award through to final handover — ensuring our work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the standards our clients expect.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage valuations, applications for payment, and interim/final accounts across a portfolio of projects
  • Procure, appoint, and manage subcontractors — including negotiating terms, monitoring performance, and processing payments
  • Lead procurement of materials and services, maintaining strong supplier relationships and cost control
  • Prepare and maintain project programmes and schedules, proactively managing progress and flagging risks
  • Own project budgets — tracking costs, identifying variances, and reporting to senior management
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, including production of RAMS, method statements, and site-specific documentation
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, handover documentation, and quality records
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, main contractors, and design teams during the build phase

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within landscaping, groundworks, civil engineering, or a comparable construction environment
  • Strong commercial acumen — confident with valuations, cost reporting, and managing accounts
  • Solid understanding of health and safety obligations on-site, including CDM regulations
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills — comfortable working with high-end residential or commercial clients, principal contractors, and design professionals
  • SMSTS or SSSTS qualification desirable; CSCS card preferred
