The Pitch. Help global companies and government agencies understand the technologies shaping the future, from quantum computing and synthetic biology to advanced climate technologies and next-generation aerospace systems. Outsmart Insight is seeking a scientifically rigorous and commercially minded Senior Analyst with a background in physics who can quickly get to grips with emerging technologies and translate complex technical research into clear, concise, client-ready insight.
You'll spend your time exploring breakthrough technologies being developed in labs around the world, interviewing scientists, founders and innovators, and synthesising technical intelligence into high-quality written deliverables for clients at the forefront of innovation. This is a role for someone who enjoys thinking deeply, writing clearly and learning continuously across a broad range of scientific and technological domains. You do not need to be an expert in every field, but you should be intellectually curious, adaptable and excited by the challenge of understanding complex technologies quickly.
You'll work closely with our project delivery team and our global community of science and technology experts to deliver exceptional insight and strategic value to clients. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, communicates thoughtfully and takes genuine pride in producing high-quality work. In this role, you'll quickly become a trusted contributor to high-impact client work across a broad range of emerging technologies. Over time, you'll take increasing ownership of projects, client relationships and strategic research initiatives, while helping to shape the future direction of our technology intelligence capabilities.
What you will be doing:
- By translating emerging technology research and foresight into clear, client-ready insight, you'll help the R&D divisions of global companies and government agencies stay at the forefront of innovation.
- Interview innovators, pioneers and leaders in startups and university labs.
- Learn about a wide range of deep tech topics, proactively broadening your knowledge across many emerging fields.
- Translate research outputs into clear, client-ready written content with strong visual impact.
- Participate in client calls, translating requirements into new projects.
- Lead projects for existing clients, ensuring that their desired outcomes are met.
- Produce insightful and engaging thought leadership content.

- Has exposure to commercial or client-focused environments.

Requirements:
- BSc, Masters or PhD in Physics (required).
- Approximately 5+ years experience in tech intelligence, consulting or a broad/generalist technical role.
- Deep intellectual curiosity about a wide range of emerging technologies, and the ability to assimilate quickly at a high level.
- Ability to think on your feet and communicate with clients in senior positions.
- Comfortable in a high-growth environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Excellent written communication skills, specifically the ability to write concise and engaging client-specific prose.
