About the School
Outreach Staffing Solutions are working with a specialist SEN school supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, communication and interaction needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. Our client is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where every student is supported to develop their independence, confidence, and life skills.
The Role
We are seeking reliable and flexible SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team on a zero hours (casual) basis. This role is ideal for individuals looking for flexible work within a school environment, supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will be called upon to provide support when required, including covering staff absences or providing additional support for pupils who need it. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to help students overcome barriers to learning while working alongside a supportive school team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering adapted learning activities suited to individual students.
- Support pupils with communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Follow individual support plans and guidance from teaching staff and the SENCO.
- Record and report any relevant observations about student progress or wellbeing.
What We’re Looking For
- Patient, caring, and adaptable.
- Comfortable working with children with additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, or SEMH.
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Flexible and available to work at short notice when required.
- Previous experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
