About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed Registered Manager to lead our Children’s Residential Home in March, Peterborough. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the home delivers high-quality, child-centred care in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards. You will provide strong, inspirational leadership to the staff team while creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children and young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall leadership and management of the children’s residential home
- Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements
- Register with Ofsted (or already be registered) as the home’s Registered Manager
- Lead, develop, and supervise the staff team, fostering a positive and accountable culture
- Ensure robust safeguarding practices and safer recruitment processes
- Oversee care planning, risk management, behaviour support, and outcomes for children
- Manage budgets, staffing levels, rotas, and resources effectively
- Build strong professional relationships with local authorities, placing teams, families, and external professionals
- Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections, striving for positive outcomes
- Promote continuous improvement across the service
What We’re Looking For
- Significant management experience within a children’s residential setting
- Proven knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted frameworks
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager ready to step up
- Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills
- A child-focused, trauma-informed approach to care
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (essential)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
- Ability to work flexibly, including on-call duties
