About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join a children’s residential home in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people. As a Team Leader, you will support the management team in leading and motivating residential care staff, ensuring the home provides high-quality, safe, and nurturing care in line with Ofsted standards and Children’s Homes Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of residential care staff.
- Assist in delivering high-quality care in line with children’s individual care plans.
- Lead by example to ensure positive behaviour management and a safe environment.
- Monitor and contribute to staff performance, development, and training.
- Assist the management team with roster planning, incident reporting, and risk assessments.
- Promote a positive and inclusive home culture for staff and residents.
- Liaise with social workers, families, and external agencies to ensure children’s needs are met.
- Deputise for senior staff when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in residential childcare.
- Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role desirable.
- Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (Level 5 desirable).
- A passion for supporting children and young people to thrive.
