About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and committed Registered Manager to lead our Children’s Residential Home in March, Peterborough. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the home delivers high-quality, child-centred care in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards. You will provide strong, inspirational leadership to the staff team while creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children and young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall leadership and management of the children’s residential home
  • Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements
  • Register with Ofsted (or already be registered) as the home’s Registered Manager
  • Lead, develop, and supervise the staff team, fostering a positive and accountable culture
  • Ensure robust safeguarding practices and safer recruitment processes
  • Oversee care planning, risk management, behaviour support, and outcomes for children
  • Manage budgets, staffing levels, rotas, and resources effectively
  • Build strong professional relationships with local authorities, placing teams, families, and external professionals
  • Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections, striving for positive outcomes
  • Promote continuous improvement across the service

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant management experience within a children’s residential setting
  • Proven knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted frameworks
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager ready to step up
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills
  • A child-focused, trauma-informed approach to care
  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (essential)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
  • Ability to work flexibly, including on-call duties
