We are recruiting for a passionate leader to establish and manage a new 3-bed therapeutic children's home in
Sale, Manchester , supporting children and young people aged
7-18 years with emotional and behavioural needs.

The Role
As the Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management, and development of the home, ensuring compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted requirements while delivering exceptional standards of care.
You will lead by example, embedding a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach across every aspect of the service.
- Your Responsibilities
- Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager for the home.
- Lead the successful launch and ongoing operation of a brand-new therapeutic children's home.
- Build, lead, and inspire a highly skilled residential care team.
- Create a positive, child-focused culture based on trust, respect, and high aspirations.
- Ensure the home consistently meets and exceeds Ofsted expectations.
- Promote therapeutic, trauma-informed practice throughout the service.
- Develop high-quality care plans that support each child's individual needs and goals.
- Ensure robust safeguarding practices and effective risk management.
- Manage staffing, budgets, quality assurance, and compliance.
- Build strong partnerships with local authorities, education providers, healthcare professionals, and families.
- Drive continuous improvement with the aim of achieving an
Ofsted 'Good' or 'Outstanding' rating.
About You
We're looking for a compassionate, resilient, and motivated leader who is committed to making a lasting difference to children's lives.
Essential Criteria
- Experience as an
Ofsted Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step into registration.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards completion where appropriate).
- Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and safeguarding legislation.
- Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), complex needs, or trauma.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to develop, motivate, and retain high-performing teams.
Desirable
- Experience opening a new children's residential home.
- Previous experience working within therapeutic or trauma-informed services.
- Track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted inspection outcomes.
- Knowledge of attachment theory, PACE, restorative practice, or other therapeutic models.
