We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to take responsibility for the management and development of a childrens residential home in Birmingham . About the role As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home , ensuring that the children and young people receive high-quality care and support in line with their individual needs. You will: Take overall responsibility for the effective management of the children's home. Ensure the home operates in accordance with Ofsted regulations, the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards . Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people. Provide strong, visible and inspirational leadership to the staff team. Recruit, induct, supervise and develop staff to ensure high standards of practice. Create a positive culture where children feel safe, listened to, respected and valued. Ensure individual care plans, risk assessments and placement plans are implemented and regularly reviewed. Work closely with social workers, local authorities, education providers, health professionals and families. Monitor the quality of care and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Manage incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns and notifications appropriately. Maintain accurate records and ensure all regulatory and organisational requirements are met. Prepare for and actively participate in Ofsted inspections and monitoring visits. Manage budgets, staffing levels, rotas and resources effectively. Promote positive outcomes for children and support them to develop independence, confidence and life skills. Ensure the home provides a warm, stable and homely environment. About you We are looking for an experienced children's social care professional who can demonstrate: Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or senior leader within a children's residential setting . A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Knowledge of the Childrens Homes Regulations and Quality Standards . Strong leadership and people-management skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills. The ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, families and professionals. Confidence managing challenging situations and making sound decisions. A commitment to reflective practice, continuous improvement and excellent standards of care. Resilience, professionalism and a genuine passion for improving children's lives. A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable, and candidates should meet the qualification requirements applicable to the Registered Manager role. Previous experience managing a children's home and working with Ofsted is highly desirable.
