About the Role
We are currently recruiting a dedicated Science Teacher to work in secondary schools across Cambridge through our education recruitment agency. This role offers flexible opportunities, including day-to-day supply, long-term placements, and potential permanent roles. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and informative science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop their understanding of scientific concepts and practical skills. Opportunities to teach Biology, Chemistry, or Physics at Key Stage 5 may also be available depending on your specialism and experience. This role is suitable for experienced teachers, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), or teachers looking for flexible agency work within supportive school environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable depending on specialism).
- Deliver engaging lessons covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics topics.
- Maintain strong classroom management and behaviour standards.
- Assess and monitor student progress and provide feedback where required.
- Work collaboratively with school staff and science departments.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments.
