We’re looking for a Technical SEO Developer to join our Dev team and become the go-to technical SEO resource across the business. You’ll own the end-to-end technical health and performance tracking of client websites making sure every site we touch is optimised for search, measurable across every channel, and built to the highest standard.

Working closely with our developers and account managers, you’ll be the person who makes sure tracking works, quality control holds up, and reporting tells a clear, accurate story for clients.

A Bit About You

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Omni-Channel Setup & Tracking
    • Configure and manage tracking across SEO, PPC, Social, and Email in a platform-agnostic way
    • Implement and audit GA4, Google Tag Manager, and third-party tag setups
    • Ensure accurate attribution and conversion tracking across all active campaigns
    • Define and document tagging standards for onboarding and ongoing work
  • SEO Technical Support
    • Provide hands-on technical SEO support across the team and directly on client accounts
    • Diagnose and resolve crawlability, indexation, site speed, structured data, and Core Web Vitals issues
    • Run regular technical audits with clear, actionable recommendations for developers and clients
    • Stay on top of Google algorithm updates and technical search guidelines
  • SEO Website QC
    • Own Outrank’s Technical SEO quality control process for new and existing client sites
    • Review site builds and migrations pre- and post-launch
    • Build and maintain QC checklists aligned to current SEO and tracking standards
    • Work with the dev team to catch issues before they hit client performance
  • Automated Reporting Support
    • Support the build and maintenance of automated client reporting dashboards (Looker Studio, Google Sheets integrations)
    • Ensure data pipelines from tracking platforms feed correctly into reporting
    • Spot opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, speed, and clarity for clients
    • Provide first-line support and issue triage for website queries
  • Delivery Onboarding
    • Lead technical onboarding for new clients, setting tracking baselines and audit findings from day one
    • Produce clear onboarding documentation for handover to account managers
    • Ensure new accounts are correctly set up across analytics, search console, and third-party tools

Your Day To Day

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a technical SEO role, ideally within a digital agency
  • Strong working knowledge of GA4, Google Search Console, and Google Tag Manager
  • Experience implementing and auditing tracking across multiple channels (SEO, PPC, Social, Email)
  • Proficiency with technical SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar
  • Ability to interpret crawl data, log files, and analytics to diagnose technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with Shopify platform SEO and tracking
  • Familiarity with Looker Studio or similar reporting/visualisation tools
  • Experience with site migration projects

  • Right to work in the United Kingdom
  • Willingness to work primarily from our Middlesbrough office
  • Comfortable managing multiple client accounts simultaneously in a fast-paced agency environment
