What you’ll do As OUTRAGE LONDON’s Systems Engineer (Operations, Data & Automation), you will build, maintain and continuously improve the operational brain of the company, taking ownership of business-critical challenges from day one. This is not IT support. This is process engineering, data architecture, and automation at scale. Your work will make human error in stock, engraving, packing, and product onboarding physically impossible.
Key responsibilities
- Data Architecture: Turn spreadsheets into structured, error-proof databases; automate stock logic, purchase triggers, and API integrations
- Workflow & Process Engineering: Build and maintain workflows (Pick → Engrave → QC → Pack) with scan verification, double checks, and cycle counts
- Stock Accuracy & Accountability: Eliminate ghost stock, track waste/spoilage, and ensure full item traceability
- Shipping & Cost Automation: Automate shipping label selection, integrate with stock levels, and remove manual decisions
- Product Lifecycle Management: Optimise the pipeline from Warehouse → Photography → Listing → Live Product, ensuring visibility and efficiency
- Long-Term Systems Ownership: Automate processes across the business, build internal tools, and create structure and automation for all departments
What you’ll bring
This role is for a very specific type of person. You must:
- Have advanced Excel skills, including: XLOOKUP / INDEX MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Query and Complex IF logic
- Understand how to structure data like a database, not just a spreadsheet
- Be highly process-minded and obsessed with eliminating errors
- Be comfortable spending time on the warehouse floor to understand reality before building systems
- Be able to design systems that blue collar staff can follow perfectly
- Be confident working with API logic (coding knowledge is a bonus)
- Be able to read messy operational data and turn it into simple, scalable systems
- Naturally think: “This should be automated”, every time you see manual work
- Be able to demonstrate the above attributes
