About the Product Marketing team
Our task is to sit between Product and Marketing and Product and Sales and Product and The Market to own the messaging and positioning of our products and design GTM plans that support our target and company strategy.
What we are looking for
- You are a great storyteller who relies on customer research to build your market hypotheses.
- You are expertly skilled at building rapport quickly – whether that’s with another department colleague or a customer you’ve never spoken with before during a case study interview.
- You take initiative and are the driver behind your best ideas, bringing every party across departments together to make it come to life.
- Tackling a big project your organization has never done before excites you.
- You are OK with failing and know how to define failure because defining success with metrics ahead of any GTM move is built into your DNA.
- You are an expert at breaking down technical subjects into defined pieces and identifying who or what can help you grasp the concept well enough to explain it in simple terms to non-technical colleagues.
- You are incredibly comfortable with presentations and consistently get great feedback.
- You are an excellent writer who proactively rejects the use of jargon and seeks out the language of your target’s voice.
What you’ll do
- Lead GTM for your product category, collaborating with product and marketing teams to ensure customer messages are clearly articulated.
- Educate customer facing teams about the customer’s perception of value and how our solutions deliver it.
- Compare substitute solutions or competitive approaches to solving the same problems that we do, clearly identifying differences.
- Stay on top of market and customer trends to better inform positioning, messaging, and new campaigns.
- Create compelling content for a variety of communication channels that map into critical customer interactions.
What you have
- 5+ years’ experience in product marketing, ideally in a technical or security B2B space.
- Deep understanding of the IT and cybersecurity industries as well as the sysadmin and CISO personas.
- Strong organizational skills, self-starting can-do attitude with the ability to adapt to new and unusual situations.
- Outstanding communication skills, including writing, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Strong operational knowledge of B2B marketing and communication across multiple channels.
- Experience leading a strategic product marketing initiative.
- Hands-on experience participating in an analyst relations program is a plus.
