Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build efficient, production‑ready rigs for characters, creatures, facial systems, and props
  • Develop deformation systems (skin weighting, corrective shapes, muscle systems, blendshapes)
  • Collaborate closely with Modeling, Animation, CFX, and Pipeline teams
  • Troubleshoot and optimize rigs for performance and stability
  • Create facial rigs (blendshape‑based, joint‑based, or hybrid)
  • Maintain clean, scalable rig structures suitable for large pipelines
  • Write and maintain rigging tools and automation scripts where required
  • Support animation teams by fixing issues and implementing requested enhancements
  • Adhere to naming conventions, documentation, and versioning standards
  • Deliver rigs on schedule and to technical requirements
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, movement, and deformation principles
  • Expert knowledge of Maya (industry standard)
  • Solid experience with skinning and deformation workflows
  • Experience creating body and facial rigs
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for rigging tools and automation
  • Understanding of animation workflows and animator needs
  • Ability to debug technical issues under production deadlines
