If you are interested in working in a warm, caring, compassionate environment that puts the person and their family at the centre of all that you do and you are passionate about making a difference to people’s lives, we are looking for Health Care Assistants to join the team at Foxburrow Grange, our specialist Dementia and Nursing home. Experience of working with older people and dementia is an advantage, though full training will be provided to applicants with transferable skills.

You will need to be a good team player, motivated, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships. Excellent listening and communication skills are essential as well as good written and basic IT skills.

Relevant experience is desirable but not essential and applications are welcomed from individuals with transferable skills. Ability to work flexibly. Job Role:
  • Demonstrates the skill of delivering care as prescribed in care plans for a group of residents under the guidance of senior staff.
  • To be able to give a comprehensive verbal and written report on the resident’s progress on a shift.
  • Delivers and understands the importance of maintaining hydration and nutrition.
  • Delivers and understands the principles of infection control and follows Foxburrow Grange policy.
  • Delivers and understands the principles of falls prevention.
  • Takes an active part in life story work, understanding the principles and the expected outcomes.
  • Will contribute to the development of an activity based home culture.
  • Make all routine interventions a meaningful 30 second connection.
  • Use every care opportunity to see the person behind the illness.

Foxburrow Grange is a 69 bed home with state‑of‑the‑art facilities and an outstanding and friendly team of dedicated staff. The home has been delivering person‑centred care for 30 years, is within easy reach of major transport links and close to Colchester town centre. The home comprises of four wings. On the ground floor are 32 bedrooms for residents with dementia, with a further 37 rooms on the first floor for people in need of nursing and/or dementia care.
