We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially aware Estimator to drive the creation of accurate, strategic cost estimates for retail display projects. This role will work closely with the commercial team and sourcing team to develop winning proposals and deliver complex, multi-material costings across metalwork, joinery, plastics, and print.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end estimating process for retail display projects, from brief to submission.
- Ensure estimates are accurate, timely, and aligned with commercial strategy.
- Work closely with the commercial and sales teams to shape competitive proposals.
- Provide cost insights and value engineering options to support bid strategy.
- Translate design concepts, technical drawings, and specifications into detailed cost breakdowns.
- Identify and flag technical risks or cost drivers early in the process.
- Engage with suppliers and internal production teams to validate pricing, lead times, and feasibility.
- Maintain up-to-date cost databases and supplier benchmarks.
- Continuously improve estimating tools, templates, and workflows for efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices in cost modelling and estimation methodology.
- Highlight cost risks and opportunities in each estimate.
- Support commercial decision-making with scenario-based costing and margin analysis.
- Ensure smooth transition of estimates to project execution teams with clear documentation and rationale.
Key Skills and Experience
- Proven background in estimating within retail display, shopfitting, or fixture manufacturing.
- Familiarity with BOM and processes including metalwork, joinery, plastics, and print.
- Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, Monday.com and estimating software.
- Exposure to client-facing commercial environments and tender submission teams.
