Bluebank School is seeking an inspirational Teacher and Maths Lead to join our dedicated team at our new Acorn Education school. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced educator to shape the future of Maths provision, lead subject development, and deliver high-quality teaching in a supportive and innovative environment.
About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic Maths Subject Lead to drive excellence across our maths curriculum and play a pivotal role in shaping teaching and learning within the school. Working closely with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, and wider leadership team, you will champion high standards, innovative practice, and outstanding outcomes for students. In this key role, you will lead curriculum development, mentor and support colleagues, and model exemplary teaching, helping to create a learning environment where students are engaged, challenged, and inspired by mathematics.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the development and delivery of the maths curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
- Model outstanding teaching and support staff through coaching, demonstration lessons, and guidance
- Mentor and develop new staff, including NQTs and colleagues taking on new responsibilities
- Assist teachers with planning, assessment, target-setting, and effective use of data
- Conduct classroom observations and contribute to performance management processes
- Stay up-to-date with best practice in maths education and share expertise across the department
- Oversee departmental operations, including weekly meetings, reviews, and documentation
- Support exam processes alongside senior leaders, ensuring quality and compliance
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, GDPR compliance, and SEN alignment
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives, promoting innovation and excellence in teaching and learning

Bluebank School is a brand-new Acorn Education provision set to open in January 2026 in Whittington Moor, Derbyshire. The co-educational school will cater for up to 60 pupils aged 11 to 16, offering specialist support for children and young people with complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.
