How would you like to be paid for five days but only work four? Our colleagues' wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at OFG, so we're always looking for new ways to improve everyone's work/life balance. We're participating in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, meaning you could work one day less per week (or equivalent). If the trial is successful, we'll implement the 4DWW across the Group, making this an exciting time to join us!

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a SENCo to join our close-knit team at Baston House School in Bromley.

About the Role

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Headteacher and therapy team to develop the school's SEND policy and provision. You will provide guidance to colleagues, liaise with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure pupils with SEN receive appropriate support and high-quality teaching. You will advise on the graduated approach to SEN support and differentiated teaching methods, working closely with the therapy team. Additionally, you will work with the Headteacher and governors to ensure compliance with the Equality Act 2010 regarding reasonable adjustments and access arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with parents/carers regarding pupils' needs and provisions.
  • Manage the operation of the SEND policy and coordinate support for pupils with EHC plans.
  • Review and evaluate the school's SEND support in collaboration with the Headteacher and local authorities.
  • Identify patterns in SEN identification within the school and nationally, using this data to improve teaching quality.
  • Act as a point of contact for external agencies, ensuring appropriate support is provided.
  • Coordinate with future education providers to facilitate smooth transitions for pupils.
  • Develop an annual whole-school SEN improvement plan with the Headteacher.

Qualifications Required

UK QTS or equivalent
