The predicted salary is between 27600 - 37800 £ per year.

We're taking part in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, meaning that you could be working one day less a week (or equivalent). Location: Heath Farm School, Ashford TN27 0AX

Salary: £31,650.00 to £45,000.00 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Secondary Nurture and DT Teacher to join our close-knit team at Heath Farm School, part of Acorn Education.

About the Role

You will be delivering inclusive, responsive and innovative teaching and learning to one of our Secondary Nurture Classes. You will constantly strive to produce outstanding/good teaching and learning at all times to ensure that all learners succeed. You will also have responsibility for overseeing and teaching the Design Technology curriculum area including overseeing Food Technology to other secondary classes. You will be responsible for delivering DT to KS3 and BTEC L1 construction at KS4. Under the reasonable direction of the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will carry out the professional duties of a school teacher as set out in the current School policies.

You will teach in accordance with the ethos, organisation and policies of the school as a fully committed member of the teaching team and as detailed in the specific duties and core standards below.

Some of your responsibilities in the role are as follows:
  • Be responsible for the learning and the achievement of all pupils in your classes ensuring equality of opportunity for all;
  • Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression in the subject for all pupils;
  • Ensure effective development of pupils' literacy, numeracy and IT skills through the subject;
  • Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual pupils and groups of pupils;
  • Give pupils regular feedback, both orally and through accurate marking, and encourage pupils to respond to the feedback, reflect on progress, their emerging needs and to take responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.
