We are looking for an ECT Teacher to join our new Options Autism School – Claystone School in Luton, Bedfordshire. This is an exciting time to join a brand-new school and be a part of a team that believes ‘Embracing Difference leads to Endless Possibilities’ for all its pupils.

The school will have capacity for 48 pupils ages 4-11 years old and is due to open January 2025.

Our New Options School will cater for pupils who have ASC and Complex Needs.

  • Up to £35,870 per annum, depending on experience (not pro rata)
  • 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
  • Term Time only
  • Permanent
  • January or April 2025 start

About the role

As an ECT Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupil’s achievement and ability to develop.

This is a great opportunity for an ECT Teacher who is keen to develop creative learning opportunities for pupils with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

When it comes to looking after our pupils, we never settle for second best. We are looking for an ECT Teacher experienced in teaching a range of subjects and who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK to be happy and to make their way in the world.

The successful candidate must be familiar with and happy to adopt a therapeutic approach to teaching and working with SEN/SEMH/Autistic pupils. Educated to degree level and Qualified Teacher Status, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every pupil to reach their potential.

Whilst we are a Specialist SEN Provider, no previous SEN experience is needed for this role. If you have recently qualified and are passionate about supporting pupils to reach their full potential, then we can offer strong, structured training and a clear progression plan!

About the school
