Position: SEN Teacher
Location: Meadowcroft School, Wakefield, WF1 4AD
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

As an SEN Teacher at Meadowcroft School, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education while supporting the personal, social and emotional development of each pupil. You’ll create a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment that meets the individual needs of pupils with SEND, helping them achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Working closely with colleagues, families and external professionals, you’ll contribute to a personalised, inclusive curriculum, champion best practice and support the continued development of the school.
Teach pupils across key stages, delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Contribute to planning, curriculum development, assessment cycles and the monitoring of pupil progress
Promote high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour, modelling best practice in the classroom
Maintain accurate records, including assessment data, pupil progress and funding requirements
Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies relating to curriculum, teaching, assessment and pupil care
Build positive relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external agencies
Support school improvement priorities, contributing to the School Development Plan and reporting to SLT as required
Assist with pupil induction, grouping and pastoral support, promoting independence and positive behaviour
Qualified: UK QTS (or equivalent), with a relevant degree
Strong understanding of SEN, including ASC, learning difficulties and complex needs
Compassionate & Resilient: Able to build trusting relationships with pupils who may have faced significant challenges
Creative & Flexible: Able to adapt and innovate to meet individual needs
