We are looking for a passionate, creative and reflective SEN Maths Teacher to join the team at Baston House School. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver maths in a way that builds confidence, curiosity and real‑world skills for students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and teach high‑quality maths lessons to individual students and small groups, adapting learning to meet a wide range of needs.
- Devise schemes of work and develop innovative, engaging learning modules that promote progression across key stages.
- Monitor, assess, record and report on student progress in line with school and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans, behaviour plans and other relevant support plans.
- Organise the classroom environment, resources and displays to create a stimulating and supportive learning space.
- Provide clear direction and guidance to Learning Support Assistants, Tutors and other support staff to ensure effective delivery of learning.
- Promote students' physical, educational, social and moral development in line with school policies and values.
- Maintain accurate records in line with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Communicate regularly with colleagues, care staff and families to ensure a consistent and joined‑up approach to education and support.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working within an education setting.
- Experience planning, delivering and teaching lessons.
- Experience working with pupils with additional or special educational needs (highly desirable).
