We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Data Protection Assistant Apprentice to join our team. The successful candidate will support our Data Protection Officer (“DPO”) and wider legal team, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and maintaining the security and confidentiality of our data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the DPO with rights of access (subject access requests), including preparing responses. This will involve reviewing internal systems to identify personal data and compiling a complete response comprising all relevant documentation.
- Ad hoc administrative tasks.
- Monitor the email inbox for all incoming data protection queries and requests and be the first point of contact in this respect.
- Assist in the development and implementation of data protection policies and procedures.
- Assist with the monitoring and reporting of data protection compliance within the organisation.
- Assist the DPO with audits to ensure data protection measures are effective.
- Support the DPO in response to data breaches and other data protection incidents.
- Help maintain records of data processing activities.
- Provide training and support to staff on data protection matters (as required).
- Assist in the preparation of data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
- Stay up to date with changes in data protection laws and regulations.
