Do you have a caring nature and a true passion for supporting others? We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Female Support Workers to complete a new care team supporting a male client with a spinal cord injury who lives independently in his own home. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fresh, supportive team, helping to shape high-quality, person-centred care. You will play a vital role in supporting independence, dignity, and quality of life. The client has pet dogs, so you must be comfortable around animals, including large dogs. The role also includes supporting a client who smokes.
Location: Paddock Wood, Kent
Roles Available:
- Part time: 12 hours / 1 shift per week
- Full time: 36 hours/ 3 shifts per week
Shift Patterns:
- Day Shifts: 08:00-20:00
- Waking Nights: 20:00-08:00
- Bank Holidays and weekend work form part of the rota
Pay Rates:
- £15.25 per hour weekday rate
- £16.25 per hour weekday waking night rate
- £16.25 per hour weekend day rate
- £17.25 per hour weekend waking night rate
- Double time for Bank Holidays
- £1.00 per hour less during probationary period
Role Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care and assistance with daily living
- Supporting mobility and clinical care needs (training provided)
- Assisting with routines to promote independence
- Maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable home environment
- Supporting social activities and companionship
- Undertaking light domestic tasks
- Working collaboratively as part of a team
Person Specification
Essential:
- Caring, reliable, and patient
- Willingness to learn and undertake training
- Strong communication skills and excellent English
- Comfortable in a home with pets, including large dogs
- Willing to support a client who smokes
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a care role
- Experience supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries
- Full UK driving licence and willing to drive the client's own vehicle

Job Purpose
To support your client with their day-to-day living, promoting their independence and supporting them to live a fulfilled life ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Key Duties/Responsibilities of our Support Worker
- Provide practical support for your client and their family, such as helping with personal care, household tasks and paperwork
- Assist and encourage your client to engage in everyday home, social, leisure and work activities, according to the individual's choice
- Support and monitor your client's healthcare needs, including administering medication and other clinical tasks
- Help your clients to access community facilities and be included in community groups, if they so wish
- Understand their communication needs and adapt your own communication style accordingly
- Keep accurate, up to date records of all the care you provide
- Work positively with other professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to ensure consistency of support
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
- Participate in learning and development opportunities as required
