Situated on Minyama Place, off State Route 6 at the corner of Kensington Drive. Operates Monday to Saturday, 9am – 5pm. Local, convenient location and ample parking available. Kawana is a busy clinic, currently operated by a team of 3, including 2 casual vets, and led by experienced Senior Nurse and Business Manager, Katharine. The team can handle daily surgeries, dental work, and offers a variety of veterinary services. We’re a clinic in an exciting rebuilding phase, offering a great opportunity for the new incoming Nurse to make it their own, and drive development, all while working within an existing, fully functioning structure.
Our clinic boasts a spacious reception area and waiting space, 2 consult rooms, sterile operating theatre, X-ray and Dental X-ray as well as all equipment to run in‑house pathology. We also receive regular visits by medical and surgical specialists, allowing the team to manage a broad range of cases; working closely with nearby Hospitals for referrals and overnight stays.
YOUR ROLE
Right now, we’re on the lookout for a caring and collaborative professional – someone who is confident assisting in surgery and consults, values teamwork, and contributes to a professional and positive environment for both pets and staff. Report to a Business Manager who is also a Veterinary professional. Join and receive support from Our Vet Nurse advocacy group made of professionals from the network. Be mentored by a highly engaged Chief Nurse Officer focused on delivering the best standard of care and operation.
Your role will involve:
- Patient Care: Assist vets with consults, surgeries, dental procedures, diagnostics, hospital and general animal care to ensure best outcomes.
- Surgical & Clinical Support: Prepare equipment, maintain sterility, monitor anaesthesia, and support procedures safely and efficiently.
- Diagnostics & Treatments: Collect and process samples, support lab work, administer medications, and monitor patients under vet guidance.
- Clinic Operations: Help manage stock, maintain equipment and hospital presentation, and support smooth day‑to‑day operations.
- Client Experience: Communicate with pet owners, provide advice and education, ensure a positive, supportive experience.
- Team & Professional Growth: Work collaboratively, contribute to a positive culture, and embrace ongoing learning to develop your skills.
