The Role
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Site Manager to lead operation at our new Bridgend recycling facility.
This is a fast-paced operational management role responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and productive site performance across all areas of the business.
The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day recycling operations, people management, yard activities, transport coordination and production performance, ensuring operational targets and health & safety standards are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- - Manage the daily operation of the site to achieve production and output targets
- - Lead, motivate and manage both permanent and agency employees across site operations
- - Oversee yard management, including stock control and material movements.
- - Manage inbound and outbound transport operations at site level.
- - Drive performance within a production focused recycling environment.
- - Ensure compliance with all onsite Health & Safety, environmental and operational procedures.
- - Conduct toolbox talks, site audits and briefings
- - Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- - Work closely with senior management to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Skills and Experience
- - Previous experience in a Site Manager, Operations Manager or similar role.
- - Background within recycling, waste management, manufacturing, production or similar preferred.
- - Strong people management experience, including agency workforce management.
- - Experience managing yard operations and transport/logistics coordination.
- - Target-driven with the ability to manage productivity and operational performance.
- - Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- - Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- - Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment and solve problems effectively.
