Support Our Yard to develop and improve website usability and content to maximise our impact as a social enterprise. We provide affordable arts, crafts, sustainability and wellbeing workshops and events aimed to bring people together at the historic Clitterhouse Farm. Local footfall is currently driven by word of mouth and social media as we are a hidden gem tucked away on the Clitterhouse Playing fields. We need support to drive traffic to our website and improve the usability of the site to optimise bookings for our events and workshops and in doing so help us increase our social impact.
We onboard around 100 volunteers each year who support us across the site as we help them rebuild confidence, skills and their capacity to improve their own lives. We build events that give people a sense of pride and belonging in a neighbourhood that has historically struggled with regeneration blight, fly tipping and antisocial behaviour. We protect and improve local biodiversity, teach essential skills around food growing and crafts and support local people to take action around issues that matter to them. Whether that is clearing a polluted stream or setting up a community sauna we support local people to bring their ideas into action – leading community‑led regeneration in the Brent Cross West redevelopment. In a time of social polarisation the farm forms a crucial third space for people to connect and grow relationships. It is an antidote to social isolation and fragmentation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the website with new content, including upcoming events, news stories and project milestones.
- Provide technical oversight to ensure the site is secure, backed up and performing optimally.
- Improve the site’s navigation and layout to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Optimize content for search engines and monitor website traffic to help us understand our audience better.
- Collaborate with marketing, events and social media contributors to ensure digital content aligns with our broader community goals.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience managing websites – knowledge of Squarespace or a similar CMS platform is essential.
- A good eye for design and the ability to source or edit high‑quality visual content.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles and web analytics (e.g. Google Search Console).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- A passion for community‑led projects and social enterprise.
