As a vibrant and fast-moving business, we’re proud to employ over 28,000 talented colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots in the UK and the US. Together, we bring delicious food to life. Our products cover every meal occasion from breakfast through to dinner and dessert, with lunch and snacking in between.
Our extensive direct to store (DTS) network, with 17 depots across the UK, allows us to deliver fresh and frozen food both our own and from trusted partners to thousands of stores every day, ensuring consumers enjoy the very best, whenever and wherever they shop. Here at Bow, we have a team of around 1100 colleagues. We produce sandwiches, wraps, platters, sub rolls and baguettes for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Asda, Morrisons.
We’re not all the same at Greencore and our differences help us to make every day taste better for all our stakeholders. We truly put our people at the core and are proud of our diversity.
Our Work in Progress (WIP) Chillers are the area on site where we store ingredients ready to be used on our Production lines. Operatives in this area work hard to ensure that our manufacturing lines are supplied with all required ingredients in a timely manner, working closely with the wider preparation area team along with Production Line Leaders and Line Feeders to ensure ingredients are prepared in good time.

- To prepare ingredients and mixes according to our procedures for the current and following shift, plans and issuing sheets – ensuring that we have sufficient material available for each product run.
- To ensure that traceability information is accurate on all ingredients and mixes, correcting errors where possible to prevent waste.
- To work with the team to ensure that tasks are undertaken as efficiently and effectively as possible to ensure that we are able to maintain excellent levels of service to the manufacturing lines.
- Ensure minimal ingredient wastage by weighing all ingredients as required and stock rotating using a first in, first out approach.
- Monitor ingredient use by dates and plans to ensure that the products we produce have sufficient available life for the finished assembled products.
- Take part in our shift stock taking process as requested, ensuring diligence and accuracy.
- Follow all reasonable requests of site Leaders and/or Managers.
- To elevate any issues with carrying out the above activities to your Line Manager in a timely manner.
