Glasgow is a major picking depot, employing more than 70 colleagues and operating a fleet of more than 40 vehicles. The depot serves major convenience retailers in the region.
What you’ll be doing:
- Admin work/ Data input
- Interacting with drivers
- Liaising with customer service and third parties over email and phone
- Overlooking van routes to ensure smooth delivery
- Manage the workload of the drivers, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
- Control and manage KPI requirements
- Being a strong example of safe Health and Safety practices
- Overseeing the day to day running of the HGVs and Vans routes
- Reporting into Transport Management
- Ongoing training, including health and safety, manual handling and driving assessments
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working within the transport industry is desirable
- Experience working with chilled produce is preferred
- Good attention to detail
- Self-disciplined and able to work under pressure to ensure deadlines are met
- Be computer literate, including the use of Excel spreadsheets
