Approximately 16 hours per week - Part-time, evenings and weekends. (10 hour contract + overtime) (Must be able to work flexibly including one day at the weekend)

‘Merchants of Fitness’ provides leisure and facilities management at Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy, Wolverhampton. Our priority is to promote regular fitness activity as part of a healthy lifestyle for the local community. We operate on a not-for-profit basis, meaning that all the money we make is re-invested back into the school(s) where we operate to benefit the local community.

Our Lady and St. Chad Catholic Academy (A Specialist Sport’s College) is a Catholic secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in the Fallings Park area of Wolverhampton, West Midlands, WV10 8BL. The Community Sports Centre has received significant investment to provide sports enthusiasts with state of the art facilities, designed to house a variety of sports.

Across the school, facilities available to hire include a 3G football pitch, dance studio, sports halls, climbing wall, function room, dining hall, drama theatre, grass pitch / sports field, fitness suite, IT suite, kitchen classroom, meeting room, tennis & netball courts and recording studio. Our lettings are open 7 days a week with closures only during bank holidays and extended opening hours during school holidays. There is parking available onsite. The site has disabled access with lifts available.

Purpose of the Post

The Leisure and Activities Assistant will provide quality sport and leisure opportunities for a wide range of users in a safe, clean and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

As part of the team you will undertake a wide range of duties and assist in the cleanliness, safe and smooth operation of the sport and leisure facilities at Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy during the hours of community provision. It is desirable to have some experience of working in the sport and leisure sector as well as a Level 2 or above qualification in sport. Good interpersonal skills, reliability, flexibility with working hours and commitment to customer service are essential and will be monitored regularly.

The post holder will:

  • Undertake a range of duties as part of a leisure and activities staff team including coaching, cleaning control of facilities, securing of facilities, setting up and dismantling equipment, routine maintenance, customer service, Charter Standard development, club development and marketing.
