The predicted salary is between 13 - 22 £ per hour.

Our Future Tutoring provides education and support to help a student progress academically and earn qualifications for students that have been displaced from mainstream education. Your duties will include providing one-on-one teaching in a given subject, assessing a student’s level of education in that subject and supporting a student through exams.

Pay: (£18.00 during the six-month probation period, and then increases to £20.00 for unqualified tutors)

  • Unqualified – £20 per hour
  • Experienced – £24 per hour
  • Qualified – £28 per hour

Roles and Responsibilities

Our Future Tutors have a range of duties aimed at furthering the knowledge and learning skills of their students in order to help them progress with their education or pass a specific exam. Our Future Tutor’s primary duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Creating lesson plans for students
  • Assessing students on their existing ability in a subject area
  • Creating a schedule for further education and development in subject areas
  • Assessing a student’s level of progress within a subject and identifying areas for improvement
  • Reviewing student’s homework assignments and test scores and working through problem questions that the student did not answer correctly
  • Providing support for students during their examinations
  • Communicating with Senior Managers at Our Future Tutoring about trouble areas or any issues that require attention
  • Keeping up to date on the current curriculum and latest teaching trends
  • Maintaining an excellent knowledge of the subject being taught

Tutor experience requirements

Our Future Tutoring require Tutors to have a strong knowledge and experience of their given subject, be it English literature, history, Maths or Science, for example. Successful Tutors will have experience creating lesson plans and providing assessments. Tutors ideally have experience teaching either on a one-on-one basis or within a wider classroom setting. Tutors may have previously taught in primary or secondary schools or worked as University Lecturers. If they do not have direct classroom or tutoring experience, then a proven ability to communicate and provide support in other settings is necessary.

Tutor education and training requirements

We welcome passionate individuals from all backgrounds who are committed to making a difference in young people's lives. To join us as a Future Tutor, you’ll need to have:

  • At least five GCSEs, including one in the subject you’d like to teach (Maths, English, or Science)
  • Two or three A Levels, with one in your chosen teaching subject
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

What are the day-to-day duties of a Tutor?

Our Future Tutors are required to plan a lesson in advance before delivering the lesson to their students. To deliver the lesson, they will be expected to travel to the student’s home or in some instances deliver the lesson online. They need to create assignments, mark student work and provide feedback and reports.

What hours do Tutors work?

Our Future Tutoring require Tutors to the hours stipulated for their allocated students. Tutors are expected to be flexible.
