At Our Future Health, we’re bringing together health information from millions of people to help researchers discover new ways to prevent, detect and treat diseases. We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our Research Enablement team and help shape the tools and services researchers use to access and work with this unique resource. This is a great opportunity for a Product Manager who combines strong product fundamentals with an existing understanding of science, health research or health technology. You might have gained this through your education, previous roles, or experience working in a scientific, research or health tech environment.

You should be comfortable understanding complex scientific concepts, data and research workflows, and working confidently with researchers, data specialists and engineers. Just as importantly, you’ll be able to translate that complexity into clear user needs, product decisions and valuable digital solutions.

What you’ll be doing

As Product Manager, you’ll help shape the researcher experience within our Trusted Research Environment (TRE) and the wider ecosystem of products and services that support research using Our Future Health data. Working closely with researchers, designers, engineers, data and science colleagues, and our technology partner DNAnexus, you’ll identify the problems that matter most and turn them into products and improvements that deliver meaningful value.

  • Understand our researchers. Build a deep understanding of researcher needs, workflows and pain points through research, data and direct engagement with users.
  • Shape product direction. Help define and communicate the vision and strategy for the researcher experience, translating complex scientific, technical and user needs into clear product priorities.
  • Own and prioritise the roadmap. Make thoughtful trade-offs between user value, strategic goals, technical feasibility, risk and organisational priorities.
  • Improve key researcher journeys. Identify opportunities to make important research tasks simpler, faster and more intuitive across an ecosystem of connected products and services.
  • Use evidence to make decisions. Define success measures, analyse product and user data, test assumptions and use insights to continuously improve our products.
  • Work across disciplines. Collaborate closely with engineering, design, science, data, research and governance teams, as well as external technology partners.
  • Navigate a regulated environment. Help us innovate responsibly while meeting the security, ethical and governance requirements associated with health research and sensitive data.
  • Champion product thinking. Help colleagues across the organisation understand and adopt user-centred, outcome-focused ways of working.

Requirements

We're looking for a passionate Product Manager who has:

  • Experience as a Product Manager, ideally working on digital or data products.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to take products or features from understanding the problem through to delivery and iteration.
  • A strong user-centred approach, with experience using research and insight to understand problems and inform product decisions.
  • The ability to prioritise effectively and focus teams on outcomes rather than simply delivering features.
  • Confidence using data and evidence to make decisions and measure whether a product or change is working.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work with people from specialist scientific, technical or data backgrounds.
  • A level of scientific and/or technical fluency that enables you to understand complex concepts and workflows, ask good questions and translate them into clear product decisions.
  • Experience working in an agile environment with multidisciplinary teams.
  • The ability to work effectively with ambiguity and adapt as priorities, evidence and user needs evolve.
  • A genuine interest in health, science and research.

Closing date for applications: 5pm, Thursday 3rd September.

Benefits

  • Salary from £55,000.
  • Generous Pension Scheme – We invest in your future with employer contributions of up to 12%.

  • Cycle to Work Scheme – Save 25-39% on a new bike and accessories through salary sacrifice.

  • A Great Place to Work – We have a lovely Central London office in Holborn, and offer flexible and remote working arrangements.
