Our Future Health is the UK’s largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to transform the future of healthcare. Today, millions of people across the UK live with conditions such as cancer, dementia, diabetes, and heart disease. By bringing together 5 million volunteers from across the UK, Our Future Health is creating one of the most detailed pictures of human health ever assembled.

How do we help people understand complex health information in ways that feel clear, useful and trustworthy? How do we design experiences that work for people with different needs, backgrounds and levels of confidence? How do we support more people to feel informed, included and empowered to take part in health research? These are the kinds of challenges you’ll work on as a Content Designer at Our Future Health.

This role goes far beyond writing copy. Content design at Our Future Health is about understanding problems deeply, using evidence and insight to shape decisions, and designing experiences that are not just usable, but useful — from journeys and navigation to information architecture, interaction flows and content strategy.

You’ll report into our Head of Content Design and be part of a growing content design practice where your work can make a real difference.

As a Content Designer in a product squad, you’ll work closely with Researchers, Behavioural Scientists, Product Managers, Product Designers and Engineers to discover, define, develop and deliver our ambitious programme. Together, you’ll shape experiences that help people engage with Our Future Health in ways that feel simple, supportive and human.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing clear, accessible and useful content and experiences across products and services.
  • Taking ownership of content within your product squad, understanding the problems we’re trying to solve and helping shape solutions in collaboration with Product, Design and Engineering.
  • Working closely with wide-ranging internal teams — from Researchers and Scientists to Ethics and Community Engagement. You’ll collaborate effectively to shape meaningful design decisions.
  • Contributing to discovery work, workshops, journey mapping and experience design activity.
  • Improving information architecture, navigation, hierarchy and user flows — not just interface copy.
  • Using evidence, research and data to test and iterate on content decisions.
  • Championing inclusive and accessible content design practices.
  • Helping teams think more clearly about content, structure and the overall user experience.
  • Taking a proactive and pragmatic approach to problem-solving, managing priorities and balancing delivery realities.
  • Helping contribute to our Content Operations and standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Content Designer within a product or service design environment.
  • A good understanding of content design beyond microcopy — including information architecture, navigation, content strategy, taxonomy and flows.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and contributing to product thinking and outcomes, not just outputs.
  • The ability to simplify complex problems and make sense of ambiguity.
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced environment, managing timelines, priorities and feedback from different stakeholders.
  • A pragmatic mindset and a proactive approach to getting things done.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — you’ll be used to working with people from right across an organisation, including subject matter experts.
  • Experience of framing problems, influencing decisions and bringing people together around a shared direction.
  • A good understanding of accessible and inclusive content design.
  • Curiosity about people, behaviour and how evidence can shape better experiences.

If you’ve worked in healthcare or a regulated environment before, that’s great too.

How you work:

  • You care about outcomes, not just outputs, and you’re great at articulating them.
  • You’re collaborative, and good at influencing and bringing people along with you.
  • You’re comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
  • You’re proactive, pragmatic and great at solving problems with a “can-do” approach.
  • You can juggle different contexts and enjoy untangling complexity and creating clarity.
  • You know great content design is about the whole experience, not just the words on the screen.
  • You’re good at presenting, facilitating and working with teams at all levels to get great outcomes.

Closing date for applications: 9am, 12th June.

Benefits:

  • Salary - £55,000.
  • Generous Pension Scheme – We invest in your future with employer contributions of up to 12%.
  • 30 Days Holiday pro rata + Bank Holidays – Enjoy a generous holiday allowance with the flexibility to take bank holidays when it suits you.
  • Enhanced Parental Leave – Supporting you during life’s biggest moments.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme – Save 25-39% on a new bike and accessories through salary sacrifice.
  • Home & Tech Savings – Get up to 8% off on IKEA and Currys products, spreading the cost over 12 months through salary sacrifice.
  • £1,000 Employee Referral Bonus – Know someone amazing? Get rewarded for bringing them on board!
  • Wellbeing Support – Access to Mental Health First Aiders, plus 24/7 online GP services and an Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family.
