We are looking for a People Business Partner to join our People Team on a Maternity Cover basis. You will ideally already be operating as a confident people advisor looking to take the next step in your career, or have experience as a people partner. You are passionate about culture & engagement, and ready to drive commercially aligned people strategies and results across the teams you will be supporting. The priorities of this role may shift, so flexibility to work within several areas and pivot to new strategies quickly is very important. This is a full 360 people position, fundamental in ensuring the business structure and culture is set up for success and aligned to our organisational OKR's. You will work closely with the wider People team on projects that aim to drive employee engagement and manage change.
As a fast‑scaling organisation, it is essential that you are not afraid to get stuck in, gather relevant information, and create a point of view, while remaining flexible enough to work within several areas and handle changes in direction or new priorities. Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Develop people strategy for the teams you partner with, working closely with the Head of People and Culture and line managers to understand strategic outcomes and build a prioritised plan of activity.
- Work with the teams you partner with to define and design ways of working.
- Create a clear leadership and talent strategy plan outlining where the team needs to get to, what support they need as a collective, and providing key coaching to line managers.
- Identify talent and develop plans to retain, grow, and attract the talent that will drive performance, culture, and productivity.
- Develop a clear workforce plan – supporting the operational strategy, working collaboratively with the Talent Acquisition team, the Finance teams, and across the people team to ensure we have the right skills in the right places at the right time.
- Be an active member of the people and Culture team, developing relationships and improving ways of working, proactively sharing knowledge and leading on functional projects.
- Ensure engagement and communication is front of mind for the line managers you support, keeping them connected with their teams, focusing on strategy, and communicating progress and priorities so people know where we are heading and the value that they bring.
- Take a proactive approach to employee relations, reviewing data and spotting any trends, recommending solutions, and coaching line managers to take the right actions before problems grow.
- Guide line managers in relation to HR policies and procedures (such as performance improvement, grievances, absence management, etc), coaching them through the process and ensuring they have a good understanding of the legal requirements.
- Our ER role can be very hands‑on, writing scripts, creating outcome letters, etc., to support cases through to completion.
Requirements:
- Prior experience working in a fast‑paced HR environment.
- Excellent hands‑on experience in using MS Office, databases and HRIS systems.
- Ability to work independently with willingness to take responsibility for outcomes, but also to seek guidance when needed.
- Ability to work collaboratively with people, demonstrating flexibility in style and approach to changing demands.
- Commercially minded with strong business acumen.
- A clear understanding of Human Resources practices, employee relations and legal requirements.
- Discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality, with a demonstrated ability to listen, analyse and inform appropriately while maintaining required sensibilities in handling confidential information.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven organisational and time‑management skills.
- Additional training or certification (e.g. CIPD in Human Resource Management) will be considered an advantage.
- Proven experience managing employee relations issues and talent management processes.
- Ability to use data and analysis to create and deliver appropriate strategic people services plans.
Benefits:
- Maternity cover FTC (until February 2027)
- From £60,000 per annum basic salary
- Generous Pension Scheme – employer contributions of up to 12%
- 30 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays per year (pro rata)
- Enhanced Parental Leave – supporting you during life's biggest moments
- Cycle to Work Scheme – save 25‑39% on a new bike and accessories through salary sacrifice
- Home & Tech Savings – save up to 8% on IKEA and Currys products, spreading the cost over 12 months through salary sacrifice
- Wellbeing Support – access to Mental Health First Aiders, 24/7 online GP services and an Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family
- A Great Place to Work – a lovely Central London office in Holborn, with flexible and remote working arrangements
Closing date 11 May 2026 at 5:00pm.
