Despite big improvements in healthcare in our lifetimes, today millions of people in the UK still live in poor health as they get older. Diseases like cancer, dementia, diabetes, and heart disease affect the lives of many people in our communities. Our goal is to create a world-leading resource for health research, to improve our understanding and spot the patterns of how and why common diseases start, so treatments can begin sooner and be more effective. Our Future Health will be the UK’s largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to detect, prevent, and treat diseases. We are a charity, supported by the UK Government, in partnership with charities and industry. We work closely with the NHS and with public authorities across all nations and regions of the UK.

What you’ll be doing: In this role, you will partner closely with different teams to support delivery of their strategic and operational plans. You will combine strong financial planning and reporting with commercial insight and challenge. Your responsibilities will include:

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong FP&A and business partnering experience, alongside the ability to operate in a fast-paced and evolving environment. You will also have:

  • Proven experience in financial planning, forecasting and business partnering
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to plan forward, using judgement as appropriate, to create clear forecasts where there is uncertainty around future plans
  • A recognised accounting qualification with relevant post-qualified experience
  • Strong skills in Excel and financial modelling with the ability to produce clear and insightful reporting and to communicate financial performance with operational leaders
  • Highly structured, with good attention to detail and able to produce accurate reporting
  • Strong communication skills and ability to develop trusted and valued relationships with the appropriate balance of support and challenge
  • Pro-active and self-motivated, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Confidence and experience in working within a changing environment where business activities and processes are continually evolving

Desirable:

  • Experience working with government funding, grants or public sector reporting (highly desirable)
