Senior Middleware Engineer with a strong EDI background to join its international technology function.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a large scale, global environment, supporting business critical integration platforms and contributing to strategic digital transformation initiatives.

Working as part of a collaborative and agile technology organisation, you will take ownership of EDI and middleware integration projects from initial requirements gathering through to solution design, implementation, deployment and operational handover.

You will act as a subject matter expert, partnering with business stakeholders, technology teams and external partners to deliver scalable, secure and resilient integration solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert for EDI and middleware technologies, supporting the development of integration strategy and roadmap initiatives.
  • Lead the end to end delivery of integration projects, including analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment and documentation.
  • Manage project timelines, risks, dependencies and stakeholder communications across assigned workstreams.
  • Design and maintain robust, scalable and secure integration architectures in line with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities, change requests and issue resolution with trading partners, vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to define integration requirements and deliver solutions aligned to business objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for complex integration issues and operational challenges.
  • Required Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years\' experience in middleware and integration engineering, with significant exposure to EDI implementations, operations and support.
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies, networking concepts, security and automation.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams, enterprise architects, external partners and business stakeholders.
  • Good programming knowledge and experience working within modern software delivery environments.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
  • Technical Skills
  • Strong experience with EDI standards and protocols, including EDIFACT, XML and AS2.
  • Deep understanding of EDI integration architecture, including trading partner onboarding, message routing, transformation and exception handling.
  • Experience supporting EDI transaction types such as purchase orders, advanced shipping notices and invoices.
  • Knowledge of APIs, web services and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Understanding of API security concepts and standards, including OAuth, Open ID Connect and JWT.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Azure Dev Ops and Git-based workflows.
  • Familiarity with tools including Postman and Swagger/Open API.
