As a Web Operations Assistant, you will be part of a global academic publisher supporting the smooth functioning of OUP’s Academic Marketing websites. This role is a great opportunity to join a collaborative, supportive, and process‑driven team that underpins the digital visibility of OUP’s academic products.

You will contribute to a mission‑focused organisation that values accuracy, continuous improvement, and high‑quality digital experiences. This role offers exposure to a range of web platforms and tools (CMS, PubFactory, WordPress), providing a strong foundation for anyone looking to build or grow a career in digital operations, marketing technology, or web management. You’ll work closely with a wider cross‑functional group across Marketing, Editorial, and Sales, making the work both meaningful and varied.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Web Operations team in ensuring Academic Marketing websites function smoothly by carrying out regular housekeeping tasks and website checks.
  • Handle delegated tasks such as audio web linking, error log monitoring, and the annual audit of information pages.
  • Make simple edits to marketing web pages using the CMS and perform basic tasks on platforms such as PubFactory and WordPress.
  • Accept and action simple content update requests from stakeholders across Marketing, Editorial, and Journal societies.
  • Maintain and share documentation that describes Web Operations processes.
  • Contribute to record‑keeping, ensuring all maintenance tasks are logged and shared with the Web Development team.
  • Schedule and execute regular reviews of marketing web content, ensuring inaccuracies are corrected promptly.
  • Escalate unresolved website issues to the Web Marketing Development Associate Manager as needed.
  • Keep training materials and process guides updated to reflect the latest working practices.

This role directly impacts the accuracy, reliability, and usability of OUP’s marketing websites, supporting over 180 marketing colleagues across the division.

About You

  • Strong and proven IT skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to copy‑edit English quickly and confidently.
  • Trusted team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to learn quickly and share knowledge with others.
  • Experience using a CMS and/or ability to build or edit web pages.
  • Knowledge of web marketing and web statistics.
