About the Role
This role is a significant opportunity to lead a growing operational hub that underpins OUP’s Supplier Led Delivery (SLD) model—an increasingly critical pillar of ELT product creation. As Supplier Delivery Operations Team Manager, you will lead and build the Noida-based operational delivery function, increasing efficiency, scalability, and capacity for UK teams. You will work closely with UK colleagues while shaping an India-based centre of excellence that will streamline workflows, elevate systems capability, embed best-practice operational discipline, and introduce automation and AI-led improvements.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Operational Delivery Ownership (India Hub): Lead the transition of supplier delivery coordination tasks from UK to India. Establish the Noida team as the operational arm for supplier-led delivery, covering workflow execution, supplier coordination, scheduling, system entries, asset management, metadata setup, and documentation. Ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with OUP workflows and standards.
- Direct Management of Supplier Delivery Coordinators: Manage, coach, and develop the Supplier Delivery Coordinators handling daily delivery support. Build strong knowledge of publishing workflows, systems (Biblio, SAP, scheduling tools, metadata systems), and supplier task requirements.
- Pastoral Line Management for the Product Data Team (India): Provide pastoral support, people care, and career development guidance to Noida-based Product Data team members. Ensure strong alignment between data teams and delivery teams.
- Systems & Workflow Expertise: Serve as the operational systems lead for platforms supporting supplier delivery and product data workflows. Develop deep team capability in Biblio, SAP, workflow trackers, digital delivery pipelines, metadata tools, and related systems.
- Process Improvement, Automation & AI Enablement: Identify areas to streamline repeatable tasks and reduce manual workloads. Work with UK teams to design scalable, future-ready workflows.
- People Management & Performance Leadership: Build a positive, inclusive, high-performance team culture. Lead regular coaching, performance discussions, 1:1s, and personalised development plans.
