About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to Oxford University Press’s mission of advancing language resources and education. As a Senior Editor in Lexical & Dictionaries, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening OUP’s lexical programme, particularly in developing Indian language datasets. Joining OUP means working with celestial tools and technologies like TLex and SketchEngine, collaborating with experts, and shaping resources that impact millions of learners. Opportunity – On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Create and develop Indian language datasets for print and digital platforms.
  • Handle lexical datasets and manage XML data using tools such as TshwaneLex (TLex) and SketchEngine.
  • Oversee content and author management while maintaining high editorial standards.
  • Ensure adherence to schedules and uphold the Press’s reputation in all external interactions.

Your work will directly influence the quality and accessibility of language resources, supporting our commitment to linguistic excellence and inclusivity.

About You

  • Master’s degree in Linguistics or allied disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of Indian languages and familiarity with digital language data.
  • Proficiency in at least two Indian languages in addition to English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high editorial standards.
  • Experience with XML data handling and tools like TLex and SketchEngine.
