Sales and Marketing Manager (Maternity Cover) in Peterborough

About the Role

To start in December 2025, Oundle School Sports Centre is seeking a professional and experienced marketer to join the team as Sales and Marketing Manager on a maternity cover basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a vibrant, community-focused facility.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Sports Centre Manager and work as part of a collaborative leadership team, playing a key role in the day to day running of the Centre
• Lead the front‑of‑house team, including a Head Receptionist, Receptionists, and a Marketing Co‑ordinator
• Develop and market the Centre\’s timetable of events
• Create engaging content for the website and social media platforms
• Oversee marketing campaigns to support membership growth and community engagement
• Provide financial reports to help monitor sales performance and manage expenses
• Support income generation through memberships, pay‑and‑play activities, retail, and lettings

Qualifications

• Educated to a good standard
• Proven experience in team leadership and marketing
• Strong organisational, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a busy environment
• Confidence in managing social media platforms and creating marketing content
• A calm, professional approach with sound judgement and initiative

Sports Centre Facilities

The new Sports Centre facility has been designed to allow increased access to local residents, sports clubs and Schools. After accommodating the educational and social demands of the pupils, the School is eager to develop wider access to the Centre and encourages participation by local community in a range of Sports and Leisure activities organised and managed by the Centre\’s staff. Our State of the Art Sports Centre offers a wide range of classes, fitness facilities and activities on a commercial basis, as well as numerous courses, children\’s holiday clubs and organised parties. The facilities include a 50‑metre swimming pool, an 8‑court hall, a 70‑station fitness suite, a dedicated dance studio and three further multipurpose studios.

Working Hours & Remuneration

Hours of work: An average of 40 hours a week, with flexibility required to work evenings and weekends. Duration: This is a temporary, maternity cover position, which will continue for up to 12 months.

Salary: £38,896 per annum.
