Oundle School has an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Team Leader to join the School Services Team, supporting the Matron and Housemaster/Housemistress (Hsm) or Head of Department.

The role As a Domestic Team Leader (DTL), you’ll play an important part in our Operations team, helping to create a clean, safe and welcoming environment across the School. You’ll work closely with the Matron and Housemaster/Housemistress (Hsm) in a boarding house, or with a Head of Department, to make sure standards are consistently met in line with the Service Level Agreement (SLA). This is a practical, hands-on role where you’ll lead and support a team of 5–8 Domestic Operatives (DOs). You’ll also be supported by a Senior Domestic Team Leader (SDTL). Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills through training and build your knowledge of health and safety, and gain a strong understanding of school policies. You’ll also help coach your team, ensuring safe and effective working practices in cleaning and laundry tasks.

The role runs throughout the year, including term time (with some pre- and post-term work) and during school holidays when external groups use the facilities. During these periods, you’ll help ensure the school remains clean, well-presented and maintained to a high standard, no matter who is on site.

  • 40 hours per week Monday to Friday: 6:30am–14:30pm
  • Saturday or Sunday: 7:30am–12:30pm
  • Working weeks: 41.4

A team of around 800 staff, both academic and support, ensure an education of the highest standard is in place across the Schools with the efforts of the whole team focused on this fundamental aim.

Living in Oundle We are fortunate in our location at the heart of a beautiful market town. School and town are part of the same community and our pupils take their place within this community, not isolated from it.
